>>> Industrial Switchers
Sunday, November 06, 2011 Over the summer I found these two switchers at a quarry near Kankakee, Illinois: ![]() ![]() I find the contrast between the two units to be quite startling. The (former) Conrail unit is just about as untouched as they come, quite the fossil. The PRLX switcher on the other hand is fresh and new as they come, likely a contract paint job by a CSX shop. They were both present at the same facility a few hundred yards away from each other. Odd bedfellows, indeed. Labels: conrail, illinois, locomotives, railfan Posted by Brian at 12:00 PM |
